About The Insurance Store

The Insurance Store is an independent insurance agency established on the Mississippi coast over 30 years ago. We have witnessed and participated in the growth, change and challenges presented to our area. We are proud and grateful to be a member of our community and to serve our neighbors. We strive to bring good service and security to our clients.

Independent agents have several advantages over captive agents. These advantages include freedom, broad knowledge of the insurance Industry, flexibility, resources, and are likelier to be unbiased. They represent multiple insurance companies with multiple products and services they can make available to fit your special circumstances. They also can pool knowledge and make use of resources from multiple companies to better serve you, the insured. They have more flexibility to change your coverage or product to fit your needs and retain the special professional relationship you both enjoy as agent and insured. They represent many companies and products therefore have no single bias. Although we call them an insurance agent, they are your agent or liaison representing your needs to multiple insurance companies.

Here at The Insurance Store, we are proud of out staff. Most members of our staff have served our clients for years. Being members of the community in which they serve creates an environment of understanding , compassion, and professionalism.. Amanda Morton — Agency Owner

I have lived on the Ms Gulf coast for most of my life. In 1996 I joined the The Insurance Store's team and quickly moved up to manage a local office. I'm a licensed P&C Agent , Life and Health agent and notary. I finally reached my goal to own my own agency!

I have teenage children who are a blessing and keep me constantly on my toes with their crazy adventures in school and life! I’m happily enjoying my life with my partner Clint and our family.

I love cruising , it's one of my favorite vacations and I often sneak away for a short ship run to Mexico to relax. I enjoy boating or to be on or around the water. I guess that's why I love the Ms Gulf Coast so much.

Marielis Vega - Manager / Agent

Marielis Vega — Insurance in Gulfport, MS

I started working for The Insurance Store in 2010 as one of their spanish speaking customer service representatives at their Latino location. In 2017 I got my P & C license and moved to the Gulfport agency to help with the residential and commercial lines. I now manage the Gulfport office. I have a bachelors in business administration.

I moved to the Ms Gulf Coast in 2009 with my wonderful husband Juan Carlos and two beautiful children. I have two grandchildren. I really enjoy traveling. Whether it be home to Puerto Rico to spend time with my loved ones or just simply on vacation.

Javier Ruiz - CSR, Latino American Insurance and Services

I work very hard as a customer service representative for The Insurance Store. As a team member since 2010 I strive to make sure all of my customers are happy.

I have lived in MS since 2005 and happily married with four children. I am originally from Peru and love to get back to visit all my loved ones whenever I am able. However I am truly blessed and happy to be here on the Ms Gulf coast.

I have worked at The Insurance Store since 2001. I am a licensed P & C agent and I manage our Pascagoula agency.

I've lived in Jackson county, Ms my entire life. I am happily married with three wonderful daughters. When I am at home I enjoy arts and crafts and spending time with my family. I'm a Alabama football fan and you will catch me watching the games on most football nights.

I've been with The Insurance Store since 2000 and I am a licensed P & C agent , notary and manager of our Wiggins agency. I've thrived in the Insurance field and I am extremely blessed and hope to serve my clients to the best of my ability.

I've had the good fortune to marry the love of my life and have 4 beautiful daughters. My eldest just made me a grandmother and I am enjoying every moment of that bundle of joy. In my personal time I enjoy my arts and crafts and I have a love for animals. ( Phil 4:13 )

John Crittenden - Founding Agent

I started in the Insurance Industry in 1973 as a Life and Health agent. After moving to the Ms Coast in 1986 I decided to branch out into owning my own agency and purchased The Insurance Store in 1988 where I also became a P&C agent.

I'm currently enjoying my retirement.
